girls IT information (giTi) is a project aimed at attracting the interest of female high school students in Vienna and Lower Austria to computer science studies at the Faculty of Informatics of the Vienna University of Technology. It is organized by WIT in close cooperation with the team of FIT Vienna, the Vienna branch of the Austrian FIT initiative (career orientation, FIT stands for "Women into technology").

Female FIT ambassadors, especially trained students from different areas of technology, visit high schools and inform pupils in their last two years at school about studies in science and technology at the Vienna University of Technology, the Vienna University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Science, and the Universities of Applied Science of Vienna. They visit the schools in pairs, and every pair contains one student of computer science or business informatics.

Once a year, the institutions participating in FIT hold open house days, offering sample lectures, laboratory experiments and a taste of university life to future students. Since 2004, WIT has organized the giTi Days at the Faculty of Informatics, which always takes place on the second day of the FIT open house days. At the first giTi Day at the Faculty of Informatics on January 27th 2004, nine groups presented interesting samples of their work to the students. The girls were divided into small groups, guided by FIT ambassadors. Last giTi Day 2007 was on January 30th. In total, 290 girls have participated in 4 giTi days from 2004 to 2007.

For students choosing to study at the Faculty of Informatics, WIT has additional support to offer, such as the Admina.at courses and the mentoring program big_sister.first_steps.
